What a weekend!

A weekend full of Korfball and celebration for Nomads!

With the Christmas party Friday night we new we were off to a good start. A huge thank-you to Tamika who put on a very merry affair with plenty of food and drink! This included stick the nose on the reindeer (There were definitely some who fared better than this with stickers end up on the wrong walls and nearby shrubs!) and a secret Santa with some useful and some not so useful gifts... Overall a fantastic evening which from was enjoyed by all!

Thanks to all those who came and we are looking forward to the next social already! I didn't take any photos myself but if anyone has any to share post them on the facebook group!

By Sunday we'd all recovered from the merriment and were well ready for the proper Korfball to begin.

We had 4 teams playing at Epsom college this week kicking off with the 5ths v Bromley. A close, well fought match but unfortunately just losing 6-5.

Next up were the 2nds vs Croydon 1 who looked in control. Getting a good lead from the start and keeping it that way it made for an enjoyable performance with some great goals to watch! Final score 22-9.

Third to play were the 1sts... this was in contrast to the second team game with the firsts going 2 goals down straight away and really had to pull out all the stops to beat a determined kingfisher side 18-17. If you missed (or just want to re-live it) it make sure you keep an eye out for the match report for a blow by blow account!

It was great to have Anna (shooting above) and Sam back in the red 1s who both had great games as always. All the photos of the matches will be on flickr soon!

To finish the day was the 4th team who had a tough game against Highbury 2 coming away with the final score 8-20.

Thanks as always to all the supporters who filled the hall with cheers and shouts of encouragement and they will no doubt be thankful for the Christmas break to get voices b
